Jul 18, 2018 · NetExtender creates a virtual adapter for secure point-to-point access to any allowed host or subnet on the internal network. Unlike the stateless nature of the traditional SSL VPN, NetExtender stays resident on the client machine even after the connection is closed. SonicWALL's SSL-VPN product contains a stripped down version of their VPN client called NetExtender, which installs through a web browser. For Sonicwall (either NSA-series or TZ-series firewalls using SSL-VPN, or SRA-series SSL-VPN appliances) you need to use NetExtender for Windows 8.0 or previous (or Mac OS X 10.8 or previous). Off hand, I know of no way to use the native VPN in Win 8.0 (or earlier) to connect to the SSL-VPN on Sonicwalls, only to the IPSEC/L2TP client VPN. I have installed Sonicwall Netextender Client software ver. 6.0.181, on a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet running Windows 8. I cannot get this application to work. There are no "unknown" devices listed in Device Manager. When you find the program SonicWALL SSL-VPN NetExtender, click it, and then do one of the following: Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall. Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program). Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove SonicWALL SSL-VPN NetExtender.
The only problem has been getting the Sonicwall SSLVPN client to work on Windows 8, which for the last week has stopped me from ditching my 2740p tablet and making the Folio13 my sole mobile device After a few attempts at the NetExtender install it completed successfully after I installed *all* the drivers for the Folio13 from the HP site .

So far it appears to be working, although I did need to enable DHCP-over-VPN and set the VPN's virtual adapter to "DHCP Lease" (which assigns IP addresses to connected VPN clients) before I was able to
