Published by aschimpie on 03/03/2017 So, in a lab environment I was trying to run a VLAN via PfSense. Since I have only 1 WAN connection available and wanted a separated LAN with internet connectivity. This caused some connection issues as the Hyper-V does not support VLAN Trunk without setting Reading Time: 4 minutes In this final of the PFSense VLAN Mini Series, we will cover settings the VLANs and DHCP Scopes with an External DHCP Server using Windows Server. Feb 10, 2017 · 4-5 years ago I used pfsense as internet gateway and vpn for point to point in an office with probably 20-30users. We had it clustered between a VM (on ESXi) and a physical appliance on alix (if I recall correctly, or another of the supported sff appliances).
The USB memstick image is meant to be written to disc before use and includes an installer that installs pfSense software to the hard drive on your system. This is the preferred means of running pfSense software. The entire hard drive will be overwritten, dual booting with another OS is not supported. CD Image (ISO)
Heard about pfSense in 2010 and was absolutely stunned about how feature-rich it was. It was unbelievable! 8 years later I run 15 production firewalls running pfSense. Consultancy Services Doing so allows pfSense to configure VLAN access to VMware. Imagine you are configuring a switch, except this one is virtual. Allowing the LAN 'port' on the switch to access all VLANs transforms it into a 'trunk' or 'tagged' VLAN port which is able to carry all VLAN data.

Jan 31, 2016 · FreeBSD may have support for some virtual hardware offered by Hyper-V, but the Hyper-V cannot control the VM. The Hyper-V VMSwitch is a Layer 2 switch. You cannot create multiple VMSwitches using the same physical (or teamed) network adapter. You even get a message saying you can't because the adapter is already bound to another VMSwitch. Nov 01, 2017 · I'm testing out a FreeNAS VM and setting up a pfSense VM (also based on FreeBSD) on my Hyper-V server, and I want to give the VMs low-level access to the NIC using SR-IOV. The hardware (see sig) all supports this, and inspecting SR-IOV capabilities on the host side using PowerShell show everything is available. This video series is one of the most authoritative and detailed step-by-step instructions on how to set up an active directory based hacking lab. In this comprehensive video series, I’ll show you how to install and configure a lab from scratch using Hyper-V technologies. I have a gbit line routed by a high spec pfsense router. I can only get 600mbit or so w/ my hardwired server (windows host, w/ an ubuntu VM via hyper-v). If I plug my MacBook pro into network I can get 1gbps speedtests no problem, so no issues w/ the pfsense router but something specific to the server I'm guessing?
